On 27^th March, 2556/2013, Somdet Phra Buddhachinnawong, members of the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand was given an honor ceremony at HQ of Mahasi Meditation, Bahan, Yangon noon day. First of all, Most Venerable Somdet and Thai Buddhist delegations were invited to have a place at the Mahasi Sasana Viman hall. This was one of the great ceremonies held at the Mahasi Meditation Center in the history of Buddhism between Thailand and Myanmar. Mahasi Yogis were chanting for the blessing for all being, Mettabhavana, by the welcoming of the Thai Buddhist delegations when they entered to the ceremony hall.

Then there was one of the scheduling program that Most Ven. Prof. Dr. Phra Brahmapundit, the Rector of MCU gave a thank you speech to the Buddhist devotees that of organizing honoring ceremony. He mentions in his speech, the title was given not only the present time but also during the time of the Buddha such as the Buddha offered the titles Mahasavaka to the Sariputta thera and Moggalana thera. He further said that around the 16 A.D, Sri Lanka King offered a title to 22 Burmese monks who went to Sri Lanka for the ordain at Kalyani high ordination, Sima, Kalyaniya Temple, Sri Lanka. Moreover, he stated that in offering religious titles were a general practice in Buddhism.

And then Thai Buddhist devotees present a gift to the members of the Sangha and rise the general funding of the Mahasi Meditation Center and leave for this center.
