Abstract

 

Abstract

              The objectives of this research were; 1) to study the administration according  good governance of Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province, 2) to study  monks’ and novices’ opinions towards the administration according the good governance of Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province, and 3) to study problems, obstacles and  suggestions from monks and novices towards the administration according to good governance of Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province,

              The research methodology was the quantitative method, collecting data by 5 rating scales questionnaires, with the coefficient value at 0.96, from 191 monks and novices in Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province.

              Statistics used for data analysis consisted of  frequency, mean, percentile and standard deviation (S.D.)

              Findings:

1. The administration according the good governance of Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province  by 6 aspects was at middle level, the mean was at 3.38. Details by each aspect was that the virtue and worthiness were at high while the rest of aspects were at middle level.

2. According to monks’ and novices’ opinions, the administration according to the good governance of Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao Province by all means were at high level. Considering by each aspect, it as found that administration by virtue and worthiness were at high level while the rest of aspect were at middle level.

3. As for problems, obstacles and suggestions from monks and novices in Wat Sothornwararam, Chachoengsao were as follows:

              Rules of law, administrators should be neutral and administrate Wat by justice in all situations. There should be improvement of rules and regulations of the Wat and empowerment allocated. The virtues, administrators should carry out tasks and duties with sacrifices, beholding the interests of Wat, monks and novices should be treated equally.

     Transparency, works should be performed with transparency, data and information should be provided for inspection. There also should be public relations for all projects.

          Participation there should open opportunity for monks, novices and laity to participate in some activities for the better creative results. Public hearing about Wat administration should be provided.   Responsibility, administrators should be responsible for any projects set up by minks and novices, Worthiness, there should be management of resources to the best of their values. Renovations and repairing of resources of the temple should be carried out by the best values in return.
