Abstract

 The research entitled  “The Sangha’s Roles in Moral Development of Students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok” is a quantitative sesearch consisting of three main objectives, namely, i) to study the Sangha’s roles in moral development of students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok; ii) to compare student’s opinions of the Sangha’s roles in moral development of students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok, classified by personal factors; and iii) to study problems and suggestions in the Sangha’s roles in moral development of students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok. The survey research was employed in this study. All 317 students studying in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok, constituted the population of this study. The tool used for data collection was questionnaire. The gathered data were analyzed by using statistical techniques for social science such as Frequencies, Percentage, Mean and Standard Deviation. Inferential statistics of t-test and F-test were used to determine the differences in mean scores of both groups, and One-way ANOVA was used to determine the mean scores among three groups or more.  Finally, the Least Significance Difference (LSD) was employed to test the differences between means of each pair. 

The findings of the study are concluded as follows: 
1) The overall opinions of respondents towards Sangha’s roles in moral development of students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok has been found at the high level (4.17). When considered in each aspect, it has been noted at the high levels in all aspects, too.
2) With regard to comparison of student’s opinions towards the Sangha’s roles in moral development of students in Wat Kok School, Bangkhunthien District, Bangkok, classified by personal factors, it has found that  gender, age, occupations of father and mother have no significant differences. Meanwhile, differences of familial status has significant difference at 0.05 level of confidence.
3) Suggestions reveal that: 1) there should be activities for students in order to work together and also to exchange working group for the sake of making friendship, 2) activities should be carried out for teamwork practice, 3) the students should be trained to frankly hear and accept friends’ problems and bring the gathered data to solve the problems and apply to their daily life.
