An Application of Sangahavatthu Dhamma for Creation of Organizational Commitment of Employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province

Abstract

 

The objectives of this research were: 1) to study the level of  organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province,   2) to compare the level of  organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province by classifying on the personal factors, and 3) to study the problems, obstacles and  ways for the application of the Four Sangahavatthu  (the principles of service and social integration) for the creation of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province.  

 

 

This research applied the Mixed Methods Research consisting of the qualitative and quantitative research. The sample was 180 employees from 324 employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province by the Taro Yamane formula. The tools of the research were questionnaire with the 0.763 of reliability and in-Depth interview from the 7 key informants. The statistics for analysis data used Frequencies, Percentage, Mean, Standard Deviation, t-test and F-test with One Way ANOVA and Least Significant Difference: LSD.)

Results of the Research

1. Overall, the level of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province was at the middle level ( = 2.05). When considering each aspect, it arranged from the high to low level: it arranged that the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province for making the communicative system good at the highest level ( = 2.51), resolving and reducing the conflict ( = 2.37), making the trustworthiness ( = 2.04), stimulating the decision and resolving  ( = 1.92), and eradicating the self-defense and selfishness ( = 3.53).

2. The result of the comparison of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province by classifying on the personal factors found that the employees having the different age, degree of education, income, and year of working had no the different level of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province. Therefore, the hypothesis was denied. However, the employees having the different sex had the different level of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province at 0.05 of statistical significance. Therefore, the hypothesis was accepted.

3. The problems, obstacles, and suggestions for the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province were the employees did not understand in the application of the four Sangahavatthu for the creation of the organizational commitment of employees at Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province, apply the four Sangahavatthu for the creation of the organizational commitment for resolving and reducing the conflict of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province, train in the four Sangahavatthu to the employees.

 

The suggestions were that the Sub-District Administrative Organization in Phayuha Khiri District should apply the four Sangahavatthu for the creation of the organizational commitment for stimulating the decision and resolving, and the promotion of resolving and reducing the conflict. Moreover, the Sub-District Administrative Organization in Phayuha Khiri District should promote the employees to understand and apply the four Sangahavatthu  for creating the organizational commitment of Sub-District Administrative Organizations in Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province
