Abstract

Abstract

             The thesis paper is of 3 objectives :- 1 to study the origin of the Royal Ceremony the Twelve-Months. 2) to study the rituals in Buddhism as appeared in the royal ceremonies Twelve-Months. 3) to study the values of the ritualsas appeared in Twelve-Months which are valuable to the Thai societies both in the past and the present.

             From the research, it is found that Kings Rama the fifth composed the Twelve-Months ceremonies to be the benefit in the matter of knowledge for all the people, especially those who are of the duties such the ceremonies, such as Mahad Lek, including all the people who can have the knowledge for ever in the future. Thus King Rama the fifth accepted  to compose the poems of the Royal Ceremonies of Twelve-Month, a part in each month requiring ever week until to year. With said reasons, the aim and the importance in practising Twelve-Months ceremonies at the past time, for the king powers to appear and to be the blessing to the cities and to the people including sentiment mind to the people in the societies.

             The rituals in connection with Buddhism in the royal ceremonies Twelve-Months, originally the texts came from Brahmanism and Buddhism But some ceremonies come from these two religions. At the ancient time, the king and the people believed in Brahmanism there were not the auspicious time and any ceremonies. Thus the people brought the different ceremonies to be applied to the Buddhist ones.

             The qualifications in the Brahmanism ceremonies in India were the original religions in Aryan Clan. They were of the beliefs about many gods, especially the Trimurti (Brahma, Vishnu, Siva) later on the believed in Brahmanism-Hinduism. ant rituals ceremonies of twelve months. were of the values according the Thai histories.
