An Application of the Four Paths of Accomplishment for the Administration of Community Leaders in Kudchab Sub-district Municipality, Kudchab District, Udonthani Province

Abstract

The purposes of this research were; 1) to study the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment in Tharavada Buddhism 2) to study the problems of administration of the community leaders in Kudchab Sub-district Municipality, Kudchab District, Udonthani Province and to study the guideline of application  of the Four Paths of Accomplishment for administration of the community leaders in Kudchab Sub-district Municipality, Kudchab District, Udonthani Province. This research is the qualitative research and the data were analyzed from Tipitaka, Buddhist academic documents, related researches and the data from interviews and then the results of the research were propounded with the descriptive analysis.

The Buddha taught the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment consisting of the components, that is, Chanda means the creation of satisfaction in the wholesome, that is, to do more, Viraya means the aspiration, mental energy and right speech, Citta means the active thought, not to neglect the burdens and Vimamsâ means the investigation and not to be illusion. 2) the value of the Four Paths of Accomplishment is the principle of Accomplishment Dhamma for the leaders always to practice up to date. In addition, it will be the goodness leading to the success of performance, it is still the longevity of age, that is, to make persons have the long lives. In addition, the Four Paths of Accomplishment still have the essences to support the practice. When the aspiration occurs, it will cause the energy. When the effort occurs, it will cause the dedication and to open the chance for the wisdom to contemplate.

For the guideline for development of the leaders in Kudchab sub-district, that the leaders are persons who have the good character or good habits  will be the persons who create the faith for the followers as well. It results from the practice or the guideline of practice. So the community leaders must be the leaders who are able to lead in the four models, that is, self-leaders, personal leaders, work-leaders and organizational leaders. The self-leaders are the leaders who have the ability to take themselves from the peril or various obstacles. In addition, they can help themselves, and they still help the others also. They are the persons whom the others in the same organization or those societies pay respect for including the ability to take all those persons to have the successfulness by developing to the successfulness as they desire. The leaders are the important persons who designate the policy or the direction of the organization or those temples carefully by using the cause and effect and they have to be able to join each other in order to participate each other so that they understand the difference among people to be chosen to work as appropriate.

To apply the principle of the Four Paths of Accomplishment is the duty of the community leaders in Kudchab sub-district municipality, Kudchab District, Udonthani Province. It is found that the community leaders must be satisfied with their own work continuously by considering carefully in the aspect of learning for the successfulness. To develop the mind is to lift up the level of the mind including the development of duties. They must have Dhamma in their minds, that is, the Four Paths of Accomplishment; the principle of Dhamma for developing persons to be good persons of the society and to make the society to live happily consisting of Chanda: satisfaction, Viriya: the energy, Citta: thoughtfulness and Vimamsâ : investigation and to use Dhamma as mentioned. It is like the capital of life and it can assist to receive the successfulness in all activities including education, vocations, living, and can assist their own selves including the assistance of others. All these are able to integrate in the management of learning process.
