Abstract

The thesis entitled “The Management of Learning and Teaching Dhamma Studies in Secondary Education, Mueang District, Chachoengsao Province” used the mixed methodology methods between qualitative and quantitative research. The thesis was conducted with the sample of 5,511 population and about 364 were students in the secondary education in Mueang District, Chachoengsao province. The thesis consisted of 3 objectives: 1) to study the management of the learning and teaching Dhamma studies, 2) to compare the differences in each aspect of the Dhamma studies, and 3) to improve the efficiency of the learning and teaching for the students in secondary education in Mueang district, Chachoengsao province.

From the study, the findings were as follows:

1) From the study of the situations and problems of the management of learning and teaching of Dhamma studies according to the viewpoint of students in secondary education in Mueang district, Chachoengsao province, the finding showed that it’s at the medium level with the mean of 3.44. When considered in each aspect, it was found that the use of media in teaching Dhamma studies was at the highest level, followed by the activity in learning and teaching Dhamma studies and then the problem in the content of Dhamma studies respectively.

2) From the results of the comparison between the situations and problems in the management of learning and teaching the Dhamma studies according to the viewpoint of students in secondary education in Mueang district, Chachoengsao province, the findings showed that there were four aspects. The interviewees consisted of 120 boys and 244 girls classified by gender, age and year of study. The interviewees’ opinions towards the conditions and problems in the management of learning and teaching the Dhamma studies were not different in the statistical significance level of 0.05.

3) The results of the study on the suggestions of students found that there should be an improvement in the content of Dhamma studies conforming to the age of students. There should also be more variety in the use of social media for teaching and the teachers should be trained more on the all-round knowledge in Dhamma studies.
