ABSTRACT

              The main objectives of this research  are: i) to study the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​the Buddhist abbot at Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province.; ii) to compare the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​a Buddhist abbot at Maharashtra District, Ayutthaya Province.; and
iii) to study the comments, the suggestions the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​a Buddhist abbot at Maharashtra District, Ayutthaya Province. The research is survey research. Data collections are conducted using questionnaire with 375 targets of the population in  Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province, selected by purposive sampling technique. Data analysis was conducted using Statistical Program for analysis of Social Science data.  Statistical values of Frequency, Percentage, Average and Standard Deviation were described. t-test was used for two variables. Statistical significance was conducted using One-way analysis of variance.

Results of the Research were concluded as follows:

1) The overall  the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​the Buddhist abbot at Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province  was found  at     the high level . When considered in each aspects, it was also noticed at the high levels in all aspects, namely, i) The public welfare, ii) The government.,  iii) The propagation of Buddhism,  iv) The Religious Studies.,  v) The public assistance., and vi) Welfare Studies.

2) With regard to comparison of the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​a Buddhist abbot at Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province, classified by the personal status : sex, age, education level and occupation, it was found that the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​a Buddhist abbot at Maharashtra District, Ayutthaya Province with  the different of sex was not statistical significance, therefore the hypotheses were rejected .However, the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​a Buddhist abbot at Maha Rat District, Ayutthaya Province with  the different of sex, age, education level and occupation was not statistical significance, therefore the hypotheses were rejected.

3) For the comments, the suggestions of the role of the administration of the affairs of the clergy by the idea of ​​the Buddhist abbot at Maharashtra District, Ayutthaya Province, it was found that:

i) Buddhist organizations should have law rules or discipline of the clergy

that covers the modern era. And penalties should be substantial. For the suppression of mistake of the priest. And preserve the faith of the Buddhists.,

ii) There should be consulted with various parties concerned with the education of the clergy for the improvement course to the modern era.,

iii) There should be maked a project or a book dedicated to the knowledge and understanding about donations properly for  donations to schools in need in rural areas or outside the city.,

iv) Agencies involved in the propagation of Buddhism should have the clergy training of new missionaries. A sufficient  to  the demand of the people.,

v) There should be regulated for controlling of the soliciting donations to

the clergy . For preserve the faith of the Buddhists.,

and vi) The temple should be allowed or established of community centers in  the temple  such as Drug treatment center ,Vocational Training and Formal Education Center for  assisting people fully.
