On June 21, 2551, Mr. Amnaj Buasiri, Director to the office of the Secretariat of the Thai Sangha Supreme Council said that on June 14, the Office of Basic Education, Ministry of Education released a statement urging the Committee Chairman and the Committee members of Basic Education to request Office of National Buddhism to present it to the Committee of the Thai Sangha Supreme Council to consider the monk who is educated, capable, skilful and experienced in the field of Buddhism and education to be the committee member of knowledgeable people of the new batch of Basic Education.
Therefore, the Office of Secretariat of the Thai Sangha Supreme Council proposes the Committee of the Thai Sangha Supreme Council to choose a Buddhist monk to become the Representative of Buddhist monks in Basic Education Committee in the meeting held on June 20, 2551.
In the meeting, the Committee of Thai Sangha Supreme Council considered, voted and chose Phra Dharmakosajarn, Rector of Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University and Chief Abbot of Wat Prayurawongsawat, Bangkok, to be the Representative of Buddhist monks in Basic Education Committee, Ministry of Education in Public Relations and Propagation.
