Mr.Thawatchai Phakanguan, governor of Uttaradit province said that with the present situation, the science of administration has been applied to every section of both of the government sector and that of the private, but in the matter of Buddhist monks, there is still a very little provision of administration.
This can be because of the weakness of the Buddhist monks with the lack of the knowledge of administration. Thus the Buddhist university which is Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University together with the community of Buddhist monks from Uttaradit province sees the need and importance of capacity building for the Buddhist monks and opens the course of studies with the name, Certificate in Sangha Administration as a branch of political science.
The opportunity was given to the Buddhist monks who passed year 3 of secondary education to follow the aforementioned course. At the present there are 60 persons and the duration of the course will be for 1 year. This is equal to year 6 of secondary education to study the Bachelors Degree. The course is with the hope that it can be applied in solving problems and in the development of Buddhism and society.
