On March 31st-2nd April 2553/2010, Phrakhupalad Suwathanavachirakhun (Sawai Chotiko), Director of the Buddhist Research Institute of MCU, and Assistant Abbot of Wat Arunrajavararam, a long with staffs of MCU; Phra Srithawatmethi, Assistant for the Foreign Affairs, Phra Suthithammanuwat, Dean Faculty of Graduate School, Phramaha Somboong Wuttikaro, Vice-Dean Faculty of Graduate School and Phra Nantawit Thiraphatthao, a staff of BRI office, were attending Thai-Korea cultural exchange festival. It was celebrated in Gyeong-ju city, South Korea. The delegations of MCU have participated Thai-Korea cultural exchange festival and visited many places on these following days.
On March 31st, they have traveled from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Kimhae Airport, in Busan, Korea. After arriving in Busan, they have visited Dongguk University, Gyeong-ju and the President of Dongguk University welcomed and explained about Dongguk University.
On April 1st, they were attending the opening Thai-Korea cultural exchange festival. In the opening celebration, Phra Srithawatmethiaddressed a message of Rector of MCU and Phra Suthithammanuwat delivered the message about the current Buddhist situation in Thailand and how to cooperate between Korea and Thailand for Buddhist culture exchange.
On April 2nd, in the morning, they visited Bul-Guk Temple and welcomed by Abbot of the Temple. In the afternoon, they traveled to Seokguram where a large and white Buddha statue is situated. And then they visited the Gyeongju World CultureExpo. In the evening, they returned to Thailand safe and sound.
